Plastics – Thermoplastic semi-finished products for machining – Requirements and test methods

A new Europe-wide applicable standard “Plastics – Thermoplastic semi-finished products for machining – Requirements and test methods”, was issued in 2010. These new standards were developed by leading manufacturers of engineering plastic stock shapes including Zell-Metall, and have been fully implemented in our quality management system since the beginning of this year. The essential advantage for you as a customer is that several production tolerances like length, width, thickness, circularity or straigthness are now regulated by one single state of the art standard.

For example, the straightness of rods was newly regulated by DIN EN 15860:2010. This standard is the first one to determine tolerances for rods of three metres length.

Additionally, fibre reinforced polymers were standardised for the first time by DIN EN 15860:2010. The standard is obtainable from your national standards body.
